4 Week Class
For puppies between the ages of 10 weeks and 17 weeks old at the start of class
The first issue we will cover in class is how to handle puppy biting!
Yes, they all do it, but they sure have sharp teeth.
Learn how to kindly manage and redirect this behavior.
We will cover foundation behaviors like Housetraining,
Come When Called, Sit Sequence, Attention and Name Recognition.
Off-leash play is an important part of this class, and we will discuss appropriate
and inappropriate play behavior and when to interrupt.
We also introduce novel and interesting items to the pups each week
as a part of their socialization,
which is so much more than just exposing them to people and dogs.

Over-Exuberant Greeters Class
Returning Fall 2024
11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
at Little Falls Community Center, 40 Acorn St., Gorham, Maine
Does your dog want nothing more than to greet people by knocking them over and licking their faces? Using training and management we will improve your dog's greeting skills and learn how to set them up to succeed. This class will address both how to introduce your dog safely (and more calmly!) to visitors in your home, as well as how to introduce your dog to people when out for a leash walk. We will attend to individual dog owner concerns and modify exercises accordingly.
For class you will need:
● a treat pouch
● lots of lower value treats (processed dog treats that are small and your dog really likes)
● lots of higher value treats like deli meat or cheese cut up into small pieces
● your dog on a 6 foot leash attached to a body harness that has a clip on the back:required! One with a front clip too is helpful.
● your dog should be hungry, so please take up any food bowls by 9:00 a.m.
● a mat for your dog. Could be a yoga mat or a bath type mat. Not your dog's bed or crate mat: no bolsters.
